Installer in preparationA few steps to make Corben yours
- Install and create your accountCorben will open a local configuration page in your browser. Set your own owner password.
- Choose what Corben may accessSelect a folder and its read, write and delete permissions. Set up vault encryption and a recovery method if you want encrypted storage.
- Connect a model providerAuthorize OpenRouter in its own page, where you manage your account and payment details. Model usage is billed by your provider.
- Add the browser extensionApprove the browser’s installation prompt and pair it with your local Corben. Choose which websites to enable.
- Connect your phone (invited preview)In your local Corben, choose Connect phone. Scan its private QR code, create a passkey in your phone’s browser, then approve the matching enrollment on your desktop. No phone app is required. The current test uses passkey plus owner approval; phone numbers remain unverified until SMS is configured. Open phone sign-in after enrollment.
- Save something worth rememberingOn a contact’s page, save a note such as “We met at the conference and discussed the solar project.” Later, ask Corben to bring that context back.
Understand what you’re allowing
Where do my notes and model requests go?
The planned desktop edition keeps personal memory locally. Answering a question with a cloud model may send selected relevant context to that provider. Local storage does not mean every operation stays on your computer.
What will an add-on be allowed to do?
Before installing an optional skill, Corben will show its publisher, signature verification and requested capabilities. Installing a skill and granting it access to your information are separate choices.
What does encryption protect?
Encryption protects locked files when the keys are unavailable. It does not guarantee protection against an administrator or malicious software controlling your computer while Corben has the vault unlocked. Keep your recovery secret separately.
How will updates work?
The planned updater verifies release signatures and compatibility before installation. Updates that change the runtime or core services require a restart. We are building recovery for failed updates before enabling public downloads.
Can I use Corben commercially?
Corben is owned by OneTouch Robotics. Limited commercial evaluation will be available under an evaluation license that you must accept before downloading. The duration and full terms are being finalized; other commercial use requires a commercial license. This preview page does not grant a software license.
